KEY STRUCTURAL CHALLENGE
- Design steel framing to carry roof framing, walls, and floors above lower clear spaces and change in roof direction.
STRUCTURE The building sits on shallow spread footings, and has a masonry and steel framed construction with steel roof trusses supporting 6" long span roof deck.
FACILITIES The first building of the $1 billion/10-year CPS building program, this GOP Limited-designed preschool through 8th grade school accommodates 650 students and includes classrooms, science labs, music and art rooms, computer technology and media center, parent center, and a full-service community-based health clinic.
