CINCINNATI, Ohio - September 6, 2005.
Graham, Obermeyer and Partners, Limited, a structural engineering firm, changes its name to GOP Limited.
Michael Frank, President and Chairman of GOP Limited, says "the new name gives us a connection to our past history and recognition, while laying the groundwork for the next generation."
Frank continues, "What hasn't changed is our creative problem-solving and the fact that while we're certified as a "Small Business" (SBE), we have the capabilities to tackle larger projects in Greater Cincinnati and across the country."
The firm began in 1921 as a two-man team, performing structural engineering and estimating to contractors during the 1920's building boom in Cincinnati and surrounding area. Through the years, the firm maintained a staff size of 10 -15 and evolved into the present ownership. As partners retired, associates advanced to partnership to maintain leadership. Current partners are Michael Frank, Douglas Crawford and Donna Wirth.
GOP Limited has designed structures in Cincinnati and across the country. Some of the firm's earlier local projects included the Cincinnati Club at Race and Garfield Streets, Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company on Fourth Street, St William's Church in Price Hill, and Walnut Hills High School.
Some later projects included the, Hueston Woods Lodge, University of Cincinnati's Scioto Towers and Parking Decks, Thriftway's Office Building and Parking Garage, Clermont County Hospital, Xavier University's Jesuit Faculty Residence, Paul Brown Stadium's foundations, and the Children's Museum.
GOP Limited also provided the structural engineering to renovate some of Cincinnati's beautiful, historical buildings including Hilton's Netherland Plaza and The Museum Center.
Some of the firm's current projects are the new Pleasant Ridge Montessori and Bond Hill Elementary Schools, and the Boone County Library, and the renovation of the Dayton Mall and the Fifth-Third Bank's Fountain Square building.
