KEY STRUCTURAL CHALLENGE
- Solve high anticipated seismic forces
- Allow the bridge to move independently of the guest tower
SOLUTION GOP Limited's design incorporated precast concrete plank floors with reinforced CMU bearing walls and shear walls. Specifically, reinforced concrete stair and elevator shafts solved the seismic force issue, and an added set of columns integrated into the facade enabled the bridge to move independently of the tower.
FACILITIES The complex includes a new 130-guest room tower, bridge to main conference center, level of enclosed parking, six levels of guest rooms, two guest elevators, and a covered walkway to the main lodge/lobby area.
