KEY STRUCTURAL CHALLENGE
- Seamlessly connect existing Post Office facility to an old bowling alley structure, while retaining the latter structure's barrel ceiling and other amenities
STRUCTURE The building features structural steel joists and beams.
FACILITIES The structure includes a new side entrance, separate retail store, carrier workroom, and 1,000 PO boxes, as well as a new street facade and customer lobby space.
This GOP Limited project was recognized as the USPS's "Best Urban Design" for 2000.
