KEY STRUCTURAL CHALLENGE

  • Complete expansion/renovation without interfering with production process, working closely with contractor to resolve field issues in timely manner
  • Create space for six new 50,000-pound horizontal cheese vats

SOLUTION   GOP Limited designed a new cheese plant inside the existing plant and added 20,000 gsf of floor space by adding a one-floor concrete-framed structure capable of supporting heavy roof mounted tanks.

FACILITIES   The project included installation of new cheese making equipment, a brining system, cheese vats, and milk standardizing equipment, as well as new laboratory and milk receiving bays. This facility can now produce 100,000+ pounds of cheese/day, turning out 360-pound blocks of cheese that differentiate it from its bulk cheese competition.
